ePub Textbook

I'd like the class to make their own student authoured multimedia etext (see chart below) for the course in ePub format. It's dead simple with Pages. Online you can use ePubBud.

I made this ebook in ePub format from a class blog in about 10 minutes. Download it and see what it looks like on your iPad.

Just imagine what your students could do if they created ebooks from their class blogs! ;-)

You can also create an ePub document from any webpage by installing Dot ePub right into your browser. It works on the iPad ,iPod Touch and iPhone.

iPhone/iPad
An opinion as to the best ePub reader:
For Windows: Digital Editions for it's management functions and excellent ePub format support. (Sony Reader is a good choice as well.)

OS X: Digital Editions, Calibre, or Bookworm

first gen iPhone/iPod Touch: Stanza or Bluefire

iPad/current iPhone/iPod Touch: iBooks

Android: Aldiko

Linux: Calibre/Bookworm
Best ePub editor:

For converting from one eBook format to another: Calibre

For converting raw source documents to ePub: Atlantis

For making nit-pickingly clean ePub books that look just how you want them to look: eCub/Sigil

For editing existing ePub books: Sigil
